North West Thames School still refusing on the advice of the London Deanery...

MDAP refusing point blank arguing that it is not their job to do so. When faced with the possibility of a legal action under the Data Protection Act 1998 they revealed they may disclose scores but only 40 days after the end of this years allocation process.

593 students jobless, with only <500 jobs available. It has been suggested that those who don't pass finals may lose their jobs to make up the numbers...

Firstly the North West Thames School is clearly being obstructive which makes makes me think they have something to hide or are clearly worried about what you would do with this info and therefore are artifically trying to delay releasing the scores and sheets.

I am pretty sure that the 40 day rule starts counting down from the original request under Data Protection Act-they can't decide unilateraly when to release info or start the clock.

The helpline no for information commissioners office is as follows

They should be able to tell you what the score is, if they are in violation you can report them and remmember you can claim for compensation if they are in breech.

I would ask all of you to clarify with you foundation school the status of people who fail, according to infromation based on a presentation on the London Deanery website people who fail lose the first 6-8 mths only which means the posts left vacant will only be partially available not fully available. This will also have a knock on effect to next year.

The numbers quoted above are only for the UK gards the problem is the number of non-UK grads still in the system and who are carried over to the second round of MDAP.

Have any of you received a written undertaking from MDAP that you will get a job if you pass finals?

It sounds like the MDAP and foundation schools have potentially miscalculated badly on a number of fronts esp the number of non-uk grads applying.

The more this goes on the more it makes you realise that this system was wrong to be introduced.

Another intresting question to ask the NON-MDAP foundation schools is did they advertise their jobs widely to enable both UK grads in MDAP and non uk grads to apply as did all MDAP involved foundation schools-if they didn't or can't prove that they did place an ad this would be against equal opps.

REPLY FROM NEWDOCTOR (2 WEEKS LATE)

Dear XXXXX,

Thank you for your e-mail regarding your application score.

You may request this information and should apply in writing to your local deanery/foundation school for this. You are only allowed to request information relating to you and you cannot request comparison with or information relating to other applicants. You can if you wish, submit your request in writing to MDAP at the following address:

MDAP Project Team, West Midlands Deanery, Birmingham Business Park, 97 Vincent Drive, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2SQ.

Please note that the scheme is still a closed process, and there is no provision for resubmitting an application or for altering the score for anything other than technical errors.

The process followed by scorers is published on the MMC website (www.mmc.nhs.uk).

Kind regards,

Project Co-ordinator

Apparently all of the foundation schools have now been told to release scores to everyone who has requested them. North West Thames will now be releasing scores by Friday.
