I was interested in finding out what kind of scores people have got. I got 26 from the north west deanery and haven't got a job. i was wondering how this compared with others? please post with scores! it will help us all have an idea of where we stand.
24 from North West Thames. Highest score here amongst those without jobs seems to be 27.
I applied to north west and my score is 26 - does anyone else feel that they were a bit stingy with the marks! Good luck all
i don't know if this is rumour, but i heard that the max score in north west deanery was 30. i know somebody who got 28 so it's at least 28.
From Nottingham...not sure what the rest got...but I got 25 and was told I was one of the lowest score for those without jobs in Trent deanery.
The system is pathetic. 5-6 years of medical school and your judged on a dodgy application form resulting in a mark which bears no resemblance to your skills or abilities.
As a senior doctor I am so sorry you lot have been treated in this way by the establishment who seem so keen on this pseudo liberal experiment called MDAP.
Good luck to you all and I hope some how you manage to get one over on the so called experts running this joke of a job application scheme.
From NCTFS I got 27. Was told this was higher than the average unplaced student at UCL. In terms of UCL students who got jobs the average was 28, lowest 24 and highest 32.
Mine was 2 points higher than a friend with an excellent form so its all a joke.
In the event that we cant get a job any ideas what to do next? Take a year out and reapply? Clinical attachments? Medical secretary?
anyone from the yorkshire deanery not placed?
And sure enough the 12.00pm deadline passes and the site fails to open for business..

To get your score send a letter to your deanery and just ask for it!

Applied to north west thames and got 30 points but no job.
Dont know where to apply in phase 2 or how will it work.
In phase 1 applicants with lower scores than myself got jobs - including the ones i applied for.
A job I (with 30 points) may have chosen at rank 5 may be given to someone who has 24 points but ranked it as their number 2.
Will this happen in phase 2 again?....because if so then it doesnt matter what your score is....its just about ranking tactics.
The whole system is a farce.

I know I should be grateful, but getting my #40 job? I'm not really that happy.. I just chose random jobs for the last 10. Why can't they scrap everyones job and use some med school rankings along with the lottery scores and re-do the matching process?.. and let the london deaneries do it.. nothing in the west midlands is done properly. They probably did the matching with commodore 64 computers.. everything is backwards in brum :)
For goodness sake. Get over it and move on will you all.
